Skin rejuvenation at a cellular level with BBL HERO®

BBL HERO broadband light therapy will be available at Dr Emma Clinics’ Newry clinic from 24 November 2023.

A non-invasive Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment that rejuvenates skin at a cellular level to improve the appearance of skin problems in multiple areas from the face to back, legs and arms, BBL HERO is fast and powerful, but also comfortable for patients.

BBL HERO has multiple custom settings designed to improve the appearance of aging skin and treat conditions such as rosacea, acne, melasma, pigmented lesions and sun spots. It can treat large body areas or precision-target small skin imperfections like acne scars. And it uses ComfortCool technology that keeps skin cool, thus avoiding the need for numbing cream.

Patients can experience exceptional results in as little as one treatment. And there’s minimal downtime, with a typical BBL HERO session lasting between 10-30 minutes under the supervision of our expert clinicians.

The BBL HERO has 9 wavelength filters and specialist adaptors that allow Dr Emma Clinics to provide patients the following skin rejuvenation treatments:

  • BBL + SkinTyte – a combination of a BBL Hero treatment and a SkinTyte treatment
  • BBL Hero (Corrective Treatment) Face– for rejuvenating skin tone, diminishing wrinkles, broken facial vessels and fine lines and treating sun damage
  • BBL Hero (Corrective) Face, Neck and Chest – for rejuvenating skin tone, diminishing wrinkles, broken facial vessels and fine lines and treating sun damage
  • BBL Hero (Pigmentation) Chest & Neck
  • BBL Hero – Additional Body area – for all body areas to reduce appearance of freckles, age or liver spots, sun damage, acne scarring and birthmarks
  • Forever Clear (Acne) Face – for treating acne without the side effects of pharmaceuticals. Must be booked as an add-on to another Dr Emma Clinics treatment
  • SkinTyte – for skin laxity, helping revitalize the appearance of aging skin

“I’m delighted to announce Dr Emma Clinics are now an official clinic provider of Sciton’s amazing BBL HERO, which uses the latest pulsed-light tech to improve the appearance of aging skin and reduce rosacea, acne, melasma, and sun spots comfortably. How does BBL HERO differ from the original BBL broadband light therapy treatment?

BBL Hero (Broadband Light High Energy Rapid Output) is faster, uses a shorted pulse width, has increased peak power and twice the cooling capacity of its previous iteration, allowing you to enjoy improved skin tone and texture in a quarter of the time.

What skin types can be treated with BBL HERO?

BBL HERO can be used to safely treat skin types 1-5 (on the Fitzpatrick Scale of skin types). BBL HERO's integrated chilling system will maintin desired skin teperature to within one degree.

Will I need a topical (cream) anaesthetic before my treatment?

While you are very welcome to discuss the use of anesthetic with us beforehand, there should be no need to use anything. this is because of the integrated chill plate in BBL HERO which will maintain a comfortable temperature throughout.

I’m a natural red-head with fair skin. Will Forever Bare BBL be effective in removing my unwanted hair?

Yes - Forever Bare BBL® for hair reduction is effective on most skin types, including very fair skin. We are happy to discuss this further at a Skin Consultation (see below)

What if I want a skin consultation to assess if BBL HERO is the right treatment for my skin type or skin issues?

We are very happy to provide a skin consultation before you make any decision about using BBL or any other skin treatment. Details can be found at the bottom of our Book Online page.
